About
Our Story
Belle Surf Cafe initially started bringing delicious French style crepes and high quality coffees in Kihei. The quality of the food, drink, and services were such that it led to an expansion in Lahaina by the Banyan tree. The slightly off the beaten path location attracted locals and tourists alike. The location was a success. COVID saw the closing of our Kihei location and a temporary pause in Lahaina. Eventually Ines brought back Lahaina to life and added her Brazilian flare to the menu and decor, making it an instant favorite.
Our focus turned then to our community on the North Shore with the opening of our Paia location. Slightly away from the normal tourist path, our Paia location takes visitors to an experience like no other. We added our lounge cocktail menu to our successful breakfast and grill items, making it a choice for locals as well as tourists during the day. The lounge took a life of its own serving our community with DJ Friday nights and known local artists performing on Saturdays. We have since lost our Lahaina location to the fire, but our Paia location has held strong and been a great place to bring our community together and support local events.

The People Behind Belle Surf Cafe
Alex
OWNER
Originally born in France from Moroccan descents, I moved to Hawaii close to 25 years ago and never looked back. I have worked in technology and healthcare most of my life and invested in a few local businesses, one of them being Belle Surf. I never imagine spending time cooking and making cocktails, yet it has been the most rewarding experience of my life for the simple connection to the community it offers.

Originally from Brazil, I moved to Hawaii more than 10 years ago and instantly fell in love with the Islands. The Energy and connection to Nature is like no other place. My background in design has helped me redesign the Cafe and Lounge experience our community and visitors seem to appreciate and love. It has been hard work yet extremely rewarding to provide a quality experience and being able to support local initiatives.
